Today’s newsletter is about creating quotes from your video content, and how you can use it to create an interesting and useful extra line of content for your socials.
There are two issues with quotes:
1) Nobody really likes quoting themselves
I don’t have an issue with this… it’s 100% (as with anything) about how you go about it. A nice graphic of this sort can really help you stand out from the crowd and get noticed… especially if you’ve got some nice brand colours.
2) It’s hard work getting them
You’ve got to be willing to trawl through the transcripts for motivating things you’ve said… and it still feels a little cringey.
So what’s the answer? You guessed it. ChatGPT.
You know how much I love it… so I’m going to share with you how to get ChatGPT to find all the good quotes for you.
Download your transcript as a Word Doc, or a PDF, and insert it into ChatGPT (use the paperclip button to the left of the prompt area).
In the prompt, add the following:
“For the initial above transcript, I want you to analyse to find inspirational, educational, motivational, surprising, polarising or emotive quotes, and output them in a table of four columns, with an equal number of quotes in each, aim for 25 quotes as a minimum. Do not encase quotes in quote marks.”
Voila.

Why 4 columns? Well, if you followed my previous newsletter, you’d know that you can now use the Canva Bulk Upload feature to create 4 different designs of quotes (maybe one per colour scheme) for these, and export them all at once. If you want to see that article, it’s here.
Caution – Not ALL quotes are great.
It’s 100% still worth going back through and deleting any that don’t make sense without wider context – but I do find GPT is pretty damn good at this sort of thing!
I’d also recommend considering your spelling, grammar, and punctuation for the above quotes you’ve created, and whether you can shorten them or make them less verbose without changing what was said.
Easier when it’s your words, rather than a guest!
