This week I wanted to share another quick tip – animating your boring quotes images in Canva.
Take a look at the below:

A valid point by our partner, Philip Bacon. Thanks for that, Phil! He’s right. Communities need to have a mix of ideas, verticals and business sizes to create inspiration and learning!
But as smart as the quote image looks in this branding, it’s still just a static image in my feed. That’s okay, but what if we could do something DIFFERENT. What if we could DISRUPT the feed?
Tell you what NO ONE is doing right now?
Turning that static image into an animated one.
Like this:

Now, I don’t know about you, but that’s MUCH more eye-catching, coming up in my feed.
Want to know how to do it?
Easy.
In Canva, once you’ve created your image, click on the page icon at the bottom, for the page you’re on. Click animate at the top, and then choose a style of animation on the left.
One last step!! And it’s an important one. Click on the timer beside it, and set it to 10 or 15 seconds. That way, your image won’t keep repeating annoyingly. It’ll pop up, and stay there a while.
Export the image as an MP4 or GIF (Exporting more than one? Make sure to tick the export as separate files option), and you’re done.
Combine this with the bulk creation method we covered previously, and you should have a tonne of great-looking content, ready to go.
New Service Announcement:
This month saw us add the amazing Rachel Lawson to our associate team, supporting us as a Communications Specialist.
Rachel is here to solve our client’s 2 biggest problems:
- I hate being on camera.
- I want to make sure my outputs are good enough to get real value from repurposing.
Rachel has worked for years as a BBC Senior Editor, and is literally qualified to hold our client’s hands through what can be a very anxious process. She’s cool, calm, and collected, and is on hand for clients new and old, at no extra cost to them!
If you’ve been on the edge about recording video for social content, now you’ve got no excuses!!!

Philip Bacon is the owner of Bacon Marketing, and a close partner for us at Javelin:
Bacon Marketing – Making your marketing sizzle! Through well-structured, strategically designed marketing campaigns, that surround your target from multiple angles, making it almost impossible for them to forget, or ignore you. Focusing on Tech, Engineering, and Manufacturing industries and Marketing Agencies, that don’t have the time or resources to do the work in-house, but know they need to do something, and something new (because if you build it, they will come, is not a viable marketing strategy).
I’ve known Phil for more than 5 years now, and his knowledge is second to none. Most importantly, he’s one of a handful of folks I know who can actually run cold email campaigns that convert!
